FAQ – Safe Zones
How do I create a safe zone?
Safe zones define the area that your dog is allowed to roam. It can be in the shape of any polygon. To create a safe zone, go to My Safe Zones. Click Safe Zone Shape Button. Click on the map to place the corners that define the polygon for the safe zone. Complete the shape by clicking the first corner added. Then name the safe zone.
Is there limitations on safe zone size, large or small?
Safe zones can be created in any polygon shape. It can be just about any size, even the size of the entire United States, but that would not make sense to do. You would likely just want to make it around your property, including your home. Gibi’s accuracy is 10 feet outdoors, where most pets go missing, but accuracy will vary when indoors due to the interference the building causes with GPS satellite signals. For more about accuracy, click here. When creating a Safe Zone around your property, including your home, it may take a couple of iterations to determine the accuracy when indoors. We suggest first making the Safe Zone 15 feet bigger in all directions of your property line. After operating the device indoors for a day, adjust the safe zone. Repeat as necessary. We are happy to help you make adjustments. Let us know if we can help by contacting Customer Support at support@gibitechnologies.
